CAROL RAE: Lino Cuts on Clay
This workshop will blend together relief printmaking and clay, a magical combination. Participants will use linocuts to both print images onto clay and to create unique textural elements. The graphic quality of line and texture created by the linocuts is so different from any other kind of mark making and will give the designs a special language all their own. Because this is just a 2 day workshop there won’t be time to finish the pieces so there will be special instructions regarding several finishing and glazing options, and a MISSA clay technician will be on hand to advise. Some clay experience is helpful and students will need access to a kiln and their own glazes to later finish their projects at home.
