Find the story you’re meant to write. Join The Story Midwife, Danielle Pope, for an opportunity to unleash your creative side and let your inner writer have a little fun. This two-day workshop is designed to get the words flowing through a progressive series of writing prompts meant to deepen your level of self expression. Too often, our laundry list of to-dos overtakes our creative side. It’s time to give yourself permission to come out and play. Danielle will guide you through a series of grounding activities, writing exercises and reading opportunities to get your pen moving and to give you the tools to unleash your writer within. Feel free to come with a project you’re working on, or a blank page. Whether you’re a published author working on your 10th novel, a person who’s always dreamed of penning your first work or someone who just needs an excuse to get creative, this all-levels, all-genres workshop is open for you. Bring along your favourite notebook and pen, and prepare to dive deeply into this journey of self expression.

Danielle Pope, “The Story Midwife,” is a writer, editor, photographer and writing coach in Victoria, BC. She leads a monthly writing series called Women and Words, as well as the “30-Day Writing Challenge,” and she co-teaches yoga and writing workshops around Vancouver Island. She is passionate about helping people tell their stories and created “Write Now” prompt cards to aid in creative inspiration. Danielle earned her degree in writing from the University of Victoria, specializing in creative writing, poetry, non-fiction and journalism. She was a journalist in Canada for over a decade, and continues to freelance, as well as edit the works of new authors. Her writing can be found in publications across Canada, and through her instagram account: @TheStoryMidwife. When she’s not writing, you can usually find her playing with acrylic paint, chickens or mason jars — but not usually at the same time.
